Polypropylene sheet received as a result of thermal pressing of high-molecular polypropylene. It practically does not show hygroscopicity, possesses fine chemical stability in the majority of excited environments, operates in the organic and inorganic concentrated and diluted acids, is fine dielectric. Polypropylene has low water penetration and gas permeability. Depending on temperature conditions possesses both elastic, and plastic properties. Relative mechanical characteristics of polypropylene allow to create at identical weight stronger constructions, than steel. Strength at statistical loading of products from polypropylene in 3-4 times is more, than at similar products made of polythene of a high pressure. Copolymers of propylene with ethylene, etc. appreciably raise its frost resistance, impact strength, reducing thus propensity to formation of cracks.
Use of given production is very various. Sheets can be used for manufacturing baths, drums, air lines, filtering installations, pumps, galvanic lines; as electric isolation, a facing material in various industries. Besides polypropylene sheets are used for manufacturing household products: stools, boxes for sprouts, etc., and also the products contacting to foodstuff: chopping boards (for example, for meat, a fish, fruit), capacities for water, etc.
The maximal size of a sheet 4000 õ 2000 mm. Thickness from 6 up to 80 mm. Density of a sheet 0,92. The price of a sheet from 5 $/kg.
Values of parameters:
- temperature of operation from -15°Ñ up to +120°Ñ;
- a limit of fluidity at a stretching of kgf/sm2 not less than 220;
- relative lengthening not less than 70 %.
Properties ÏÅ-500, ÏÅ-1000:
- extremely high impact strength and due to this very high serviceability;
- very much high qualities of sliding, very small deterioration;
- very high resistance to influence of chemicals, such as acids, alkalis, aggressive gases;
- high resistance to formation of cracks, very good muffler;
- a wide spectrum of applications owing to temperature stability in a range from -200°Ñ up to +90°Ñ.
Fields of application
Owing to high molecular weight ÏÅ-500, ÏÅ-1000 it can be applied there where low-molecular polythene do not meet the requirements. Besides the combination of properties allows torelate it to a class of technical plastic and opens to it corresponding application:
- mechanical engineering (the elements of constructions which is subjected to abrasion, for example, running skating rolls, the cogwheels, directing circuits, basic cartridges, tension circuits);
- the chemical industry (blades pumps, cranes, gates, facing of storehouses of a silo);
- mining andcoal benefication (facing of transport trenches, slopes, cars, bunkers).
Polythene ÏÅ -300, is offered as alternative to high-molecular marks. All mechanical characteristics considerably concede to marks ÏÅ-500 and ÏÅ-1000, but chemical resistance is high and it is cheaper almost twice, is easily welded. It is used for manufacturing of underground communications, for fettling galvanic baths, for manufacturing of capacities for transportation and storage of chemicals.
